How long have you been AuroraHut partner?
We have been AuroraHut partners since November 2019. We have the AuroraHut no. 9 here, so we were pretty much among the first to get them. We became interested in AuroraHut due to its convenience and ecological aspects. We were especially attracted to the versatility of usage. We went to the winter fair to see the AuroraHut igloo boats and we interviewed the sales people with a purchase intention. Ecology is an important value for us and we take it seriously. Therefore, in the igloo boat we only use ecological MyDiesel for heating, as it is a renewable fuel.
What has been the best thing about AuroraHut?
In my opinion, the best thing about it has been the experience as a whole. The product works really well and when minor faults or inconveniences happen, we have been able to contact the maintenance service directly and the problems have been solved very quickly. Maintenance in general has worked really well. As a whole, the product is very functional and we can wholeheartedly recommend it to other entrepreneurs. One of my friends in Rovaniemi recently got two or three igloo boats. Although there are many different functions and parts in an AuroraHut igloo boat, every last bit has been well thought of. Overall, there has been very few problems with it. We call almost monthly with Tomi, one of the AuroraHut representatives, just to catch up. Your ability collaborate is top notch and works really well. There’s always someone at the other end of the line if there’s anything to ask.
What kind of feedback have you received from the customers?
There has never been any negative feedback, only flattering comments from the customers. They really like the igloo boat a lot. In their opinion, it is considered as an atmospheric and generally really good accommodation. They have specifically praised the general experience of it all. Customers especially like to play music from their own phones via Bluetooth while watching the scenery from the glass walls and like how the accommodation has been well thought out. In general, the mobility of the igloo boat has become an admirable feature. They are really amazed and enchanted when in summer it floats freely on the water.
Why would you recommend AuroraHut?
I especially like how the igloo boat is a year-round experience. Normal igloos or that kind of accommodations are mainly for the winter season, but AuroraHut is well suited for a year-round experience. Although it gets hot inside the igloo boat during summer, it cools down surprisingly quickly if you open the door in the evening. However, no one has complained or given feedback that it has been too hot. We’ve been thinking about improving air conditioning somehow for the summer season. In winter, besides the accommodation, we offer activities such as ice fishing and searching for traces and footprints of animals. We only offer activities that can be done with your own feet and hands. We have nothing that includes engines or anything like that. We also offer cooking on open fire cooking for our visitors. They are really interested to see how to cook reindeer. We also offer sauna experiences and we are only a short distance away from the Santa Claus village. In summer, SUP boarding, rowing and fishing are available. All in all, we have been very happy with the igloo boat and have really only received positive feedback from our customers.
What would you hope to get in the future from the collaboration with AuroraHut and what kind of new products or innovations would you like to have to support your business?
We have, in fact, been thinking about this. You have been developing the ice swimming tub for some time now and we are very interested about it. Customers really wish for ice swimming and keeping the hole open in the winter is time consuming. We really are waiting for this product and will definitely get one here in Ollero. We hope that the cooperation will work as seamlessly in the future as it has so far. You have a webpage from where guests can directly book AuroraHut accommodations in different destinations. We also have our destination page there and it has been really handy. Personally, I don’t see the addition of new destination as a threat at all, but more as an opportunity for us to advertise each other. We definitely want to continue our cooperation with AuroraHut in the future.
